Texas A&M University has earned gold-level recognition from the Texas Veterans Commission’s 2025 Veteran Education Excellence Recognition Award, the highest honor given by the commission for outstanding institutional support of student veterans.

The university serves 1,272 student veterans through programs such as the Military Admission Office, which offers transitional guidance and admissions support, and the Don & Ellie Knauss Veteran Resource and Support Center (VRSC), which provides scholarships, academic assistance and career preparation.

This award reflects Texas A&M’s strong commitment to helping veterans succeed both academically and personally. The VRSC collaborates with campus partners, including University Health Services, Aggie One Stop and the Office of Student Success, to connect student veterans with mental health resources, financial aid and one-on-one advising. These coordinated efforts ensure veteran and military-affiliated students receive the support they need to thrive.

The recognition also underscores the university’s dedication to creating a welcoming and resource-rich environment for those who have served. Texas A&M continues to expand its veteran outreach through a recent partnership with the Brazos County Veteran Service Office, which now offers on-campus hours at the VRSC to make benefits and services more accessible.
