The event celebrates 10 years of attracting leading scientists, engineers and scholars from around the world to collaborate with Texas A&M’s outstanding faculty and students.

Collaborative research areas include agriculture, architecture, science, education, engineering and psychology.

In recognition of their achievements, each recipient will receive a cash gift, an engraved watch, and a commemorative plaque.

Recipients of this award will receive $5,000 to support teaching innovations and teaching-related projects and activities.

College of Education & Human Development Professor Kay Wijekumar's project aims to improve reading comprehension in fourth and fifth grade students across the country.

Jorge A. Vanegas, dean of the College of Architecture since 2009, will remain with the university and Patrick C. Suermann will serve as acting dean.

The award is the highest honor bestowed by the Texas A&M System on faculty members.

The Montague-CTE Scholars Award is named in honor of Kenneth Montague ’37.
