The Texas A&M Foundation has reached its goal through a $2 million gift from Kaye and Steve Horn of Houston.

Betsy and Peter Forster of Washington, D. C., pledged $1 million to the Texas A&M Foundation in support of the renovation and expansion of Texas A&M University’s Memorial Student Center.

The gift is the largest to date in a $20 million campaign, and names the grand ballroom the Debbie ’76 and John’74 Bethancourt Family Ballroom.

Rededicated in memory of the more than 1,100 Aggies who lost their lives in military service to their country, the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University was reopened Saturday, April 21.

“First of all, it is a memorial for Aggies who gave their lives in World Wars I and II, which brings reverence and respect. Secondly, it is a student union full of a celebratory aspect.”
