Texas A&M Celebrates Earth Day

Even with a fast-growing campus, the university has made strides in sustainability in the last two decades.

A series of activities and educational opportunities are planned throughout April.

Rather than disposing of waste in dumpsters and landfills, a Texas A&M researchers proposes that biomass be used as a renewable resource.

Texas A&M honors students will participate in a field experience, design challenge or hackathon to address global agriculture priorities.

The unique home will be equipped with solar panels, skylights and a rainwater collection system, along with a variety of other features meant to maximize efficiency, safety and accessibility.

Sbisa Dining Hall has been awarded the Certified Green Restaurant® Designation for efforts in sustainability.

Researchers plan to create resilient building designs using a new green material called hempcrete that can lower the environmental impact of traditional construction.
