Information: The International Women’s Day Conference is an annual event celebrating women from around the world. Our theme, #BeBoldForChange, encourages the creation of a better, more inclusive world through a variety of panels, entertainment, and discussions. In addition to faculty and student panels, the conference will feature performances by the Femmatas, cultural dance groups, and slam poets. Dinner will be provided. This free conference is open to all TAMU students.

Information: MSC Freshman Leadership International (FLI) is organizing a freshmen led awareness program focusing on the millions of people who become victim to human trafficking from a global scale. Partnering with UPD, we will sponsor a self-defense class free to the public on March 8th teaching several hand holds and what to do when put in a dangerous situation. A panel event on March 9th will include a presentation from a survivor of trafficking itself, an FBI agent, and a Texas A&M professor of sociology. Tables with more information and displays will be set up starting February 28th along with social media postings through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The self-defense class has limited spots (about 60) and requires all participants come with a UPD waiver filled out to the event. The panel event is open for a much wider audience of about 300.

Information: For the last two years Health For All, a nonprofit free health care clinic, has hosted the BRA ART EVENT as an annual fundraiser. This year we are expanding the event to include hats and want to introduce Hat’s Off to Bra Art 2017!This fundraiser will include the auction of HEALTH COUTURE ART (both HAT ART & BRA ART) to help raise money for our free clinic serving the uninsured of the Brazos Valley. The BRA ART Event was originally created in 2015 to raise funds and awareness for women’s health, specifically breast cancer detection and prevention.
