Aggieland Saturday: Campus-Wide Open House Feb. 13
Texas A&M University will open its campus for Aggieland Saturday 2016 on Feb. 13 for prospective students and their parents.
Texas A&M University will open its campus for Aggieland Saturday 2016 on Feb. 13 for prospective students and their parents. The campus-wide open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
At Aggieland Saturday, organizers say prospective students and their families can tour the campus and learn more about Texas A&M — its academic programs, traditions and related matters. High school students and prospective transfer students are encouraged to participate in interactive demonstrations and learn about individual colleges, departments and majors, admission, financial aid, student life and the Bryan-College Station community.
Activities are designed to be self-guided, so participants can focus on their particular areas of interest. A schedule of activities to help with planning is available online. Directions and parking information also are available online.

“One of the most important things in the college exploration process is to visit college campuses,” said Meredith Ramirez, assistant director of the Office of Admissions. “Aggieland Saturday is designed for this purpose, giving students more in-depth access to Texas A&M. The self-guided format allows students to explore Texas A&M at their own pace, tailored to their individual interests. Students can take a campus tour, view the residence halls, meet with academic departments and get valuable admissions and financial aid information. It’s the one day where the entire campus opens its doors to all those interested in Texas A&M.”
To help visitors move around campus and take maximum advantage of the day’s opportunities, Texas A&M’s Division of Marketing & Communications stands ready to help. For example, prospective students and their families can easily navigate the campus using their smart phones by downloading the free Texas A&M mobile app at TAMUmobile. With the maps application of TAMUmobile, visitors can easily access their exact location, search for a building and pinpoint its address. A schedule of activities also is available here.

The Appelt Aggieland Visitor Center in Rudder Tower has tours planned during the day so that prospective students can meet with faculty or advisers from the academic colleges, learn about majors and academic programs, meet current students and visit libraries and computer labs. While these tours are structured for each area of interest, students are also free to visit different areas of campus on their own.
Aggieland Saturday activities are free, except for meals and parking. While registration is not required, officials say it is encouraged to help ensure that visitors are accommodated to the fullest extent possible
Aggieland Saturday is sponsored by the Office of Admissions and The Association of Former Students.
