College of Liberal Arts Dean Pamela R. Matthews ’81 and her husband, Dennis Berthold, endowed two gifts totaling $104,000 benefiting Liberal Arts students and faculty.
The Pamela R. Matthews First in Family Endowed Scholarship aims to assist first-generation college students pursing an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts, and the Dr. Dennis Berthold Innovations in Teaching Endowment will be awarded to instructors who develop new and creative ways to present material to students.
The gift was funded with additional monies to ensure each could be given in the fall to deserving students and faculty. As part of the Lead by Example capital campaign, Matthews and Berthold hope to inspire others to show their support for the college and Texas A&M.
