1. Texas A&M Biology’s Switch To Open-Source Textbooks Means Big Savings For Students
Earlier this fall, a joint faculty committee from Texas A&M University Libraries and the Texas A&M Department of Biology took a fresh look at possible textbook options for introductory biology courses, resulting in a switch this summer to a free open-source solution, OpenStax, that is expected to save students more than $600,000 per year combined.
2. Texas A&M Class Of 2021 Donates More Than $9,000 To Brazos Valley Food Bank
Texas A&M’s newest Aggies completed their first service project for the Bryan-College Station community by donating thousands of dollars to the Brazos Valley Food Bank. Incoming students of the Class of 2021 donated more than $9,000 in funds collected throughout the summer.
