USPS Forever Stamp Event To Honor George H.W. Bush
The first-day-of-issue ceremony at the Bush Center on June 12 will be followed by a birthday celebration honoring the 41st President and former first lady Barbara Bush.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) will issue a Forever stamp honoring President George H.W. Bush during a first-day-of-issue ceremony at the Bush Center Wednesday, June 12. Later in the day, the Bush Library and Museum will celebrate the birthdays of President Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush with a birthday celebration.
The first-day-of-issue event for the stamp is free and open to the public. The event will take place at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Dedication ceremony attendees are encouraged to RSVP online.
Bush Birthday Tribute festivities run from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will include birthday cake, Blue Bell Ice Cream, popcorn and Pepsi products.
Guests are encouraged to wear “crazy” socks and pearls to honor the lives and legacies of President and Mrs. Bush. There is no cost to participate in the events in the rotunda, but regular admission applies for the museum.
