Texas A&M Urging COVID-19 Testing For All Students
There are several testing sites available this week, including a drive-thru option.

Texas A&M University is offering free COVID-19 testing at several campus locations this week as the university urges all students to get tested.
Every student also is asked to complete a short online pre-registration screening, even if they fall in any of the following categories:
- Don’t plan to test
- Have already had the virus
- Think they don’t need a test
- Expect to test elsewhere
- Aren’t currently in the Bryan-College Station area
- Are quarantining or isolating at home
The information – which is used to make critical university decisions – is necessary for officials to get a true understanding of COVID-19 in the Aggie campus community, which has seen a spike in cases* in recent weeks.
Dr. Tiffany Skaggs, chief medical officer for Student Health Services, said testing is quick, simple and offers the best way to stop the relentless and silent transmission of the deadly virus.
“If we don’t test, we will always be at the mercy of this invisible virus until we get a vaccine or effective treatment, ” Skaggs said. “If we are diligent with our testing, tracking, isolation and quarantining today, we can protect our health and opportunities tomorrow and beyond.”

Other testing (charges will apply; insurance not required to utilize these options):
- SHS offers a rapid COVID-19 and Flu A/B combo test for students, faculty and staff. This test provides results within two to four hours post-collection. The cost for students is $80; the cost for faculty/staff is $120. A portion of this test may be covered by health insurance, so bring any insurance information with you to your appointment.
- Inside the A.P. Beutel Health Center, students, faculty and staff can receive a nasal swab to determine an active infection, as well as an antibody test to determine the likelihood of a previous infection.
- Schedule an appointment for either of these tests online and select the “COVID-19 Testing” option.
Instructions:
- Please pre-register at the Texas A&M COVID-19 Student Testing Program website to save time at the testing site, and bring your email verification with you or have it ready to show on your mobile device.
- Come to your COVID-19 test hydrated, but do not eat or drink anything 20 minutes prior to testing.
- If you are sick or think you might have COVID-19, please schedule your test immediately with Student Health Services or go to any walk-up Curative kiosk on campus.
- If you are younger than 18 years of age, please go directly to any walk-up Curative kiosk on campus.
- If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days, you do not need to be tested during this testing period.
