Texas A&M is supporting more than 80 urban search and rescue dogs, who can be at risk due to contaminated flood waters, among other hazards.

Professor Robin Murphy and her team have deployed robots to nearly 30 disasters in five countries, including Hurricanes Katrina and Harvey.

Kem Bennett saw the Texas A&M facility’s training put to the test on Sept. 11, 2001, when Texas Task Force 1 was dispatched to Ground Zero to help with rescue and recovery.

Personnel from Texas A&M Task Force 1, the Veterinary Emergency Team and the A&M Forest Service have been deployed to communities throughout the region affected by former Tropical Storm Imelda.
