Texas A&M To Honor 16 Distinguished Graduate Students April 23

Sixteen students from Texas A&M University who are pursuing their master’s or doctoral degrees have been named Distinguished Graduate Students for 2018.
The students are being honored for their exemplary accomplishment in one of three categories: Research (doctoral), research (master’s) and teaching. The recipients will be recognized and presented their awards during a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 23 at The Association of Former Students Clayton W. Williams Jr. Alumni Center on campus when each will be presented a framed certificate and custom watch from The Association.
“Graduate students contribute to our research and teaching missions while advancing scholarship in their fields of study,” said Dr. Mark Zoran, acting associate provost for professional and graduate studies. “Thanks to The Association of Former Students’ support for these awards, we are able to recognize 16 of our most exemplary graduate students this year.”
Adds Porter S. Garner III ’79, president and CEO of The Association of Former Students, “Graduate students are an important component of our Aggie Network and they bring great honor to Texas A&M through their research and teaching.
