Texas A&M to award more than 6,000 diplomas at fall commencements

Fall graduations will be celebrated Dec. 17 and 18 across six ceremonies at Reed Arena.

Texas A&M University will hold six commencement ceremonies next week at Reed Arena.

Texas A&M University will award approximately 6,047 degrees to fall graduates at six commencement ceremonies this month. Commencements will be held at Reed Arena on Dec. 17 and 18 for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students.

Graduates will have their names called and walk the stage, then return to their seats. Diplomas will be mailed after the ceremony. Diploma tubes will be provided at the ceremonies for photographs.

School officials note commencements are a celebration of each student’s accomplishments, and every effort is made to ensure safety, security and decorum of a public event benefiting their success. Guests are encouraged to refrain from disruptive behaviors, which may negatively impact this special moment for students and their families. Clear bags are also required at all commencement ceremonies at Reed Arena.

All ceremonies will be televised live by KAMU-TV and livestreamed via the KAMU website.

Undergraduate degrees will be awarded at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 and at 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18. Master’s degrees and doctoral hooding ceremonies will be at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17. A military commissioning ceremony will be part of the 7 p.m. ceremony on Dec. 18.

Free parking is available in the West Campus Garage and in multiple lots near Reed Arena. Lot 102 is reserved for accessible parking, and Lot 100g is reserved for commencement special guests.
